The Cecil is a new Afro/Asian/American Brasserie, the first of its kind, that draws its inspiration from the cuisine of the African diaspora. Located in a historical building in Harlem, NY, the restaurant's owners wanted an identity that captured the uniqueness of its concept while respecting the rich cultural heritage of its location. Inspired by the original neon site of the hotel on the site, we created a logo and identity system that respects those tasks and creates ample opportunities for the restaurant's image to be identified with its cuisine through additional elements, such as wine labels, menus, etc.
The restaurant's website is coded with a parallax scheme to enhance the narrative of the story and offer the visitor a spectacular first visit to this unique place. The Cecil was Esquire Magazine's Best New Restaurant in America, 2014.
